The much-awaited Valentine’s Day is just a week away and we are brushing our love playlist and thinking of brand new ways to make the day special. Bollywood too has had its share of on-screen couples who made us go crazy with their chemistry and inspired us to be like them. We check out a few of these famous On screen couples of bollywood –
1.Kajol – Shah Rukh Khan:-
Millennials have grown up watching these two actors light up the screen with their magic. From Baazigar where they were paired together for the first time to their latest Dilwale, SRK and Kajol are special to every 90s kid. Seeing them together on-screen never gets old, irrespective of their age.
2.Madhuri Dixit – Anil Kapoor:-
Another superhit on-screen pair of the late 80s to 90s, these actors were the essential pairing to draw crowds to the theatres. Beginning with Tezaab to Beta to their last film together Pukaar, Madhuri Dixit & Anil Kapoor impressed audience time and time again with their chemistry. If all goes well, they might be seen again soon.
3.Rekha – Amitabh Bachchan:-
Their Jodi might not have replicated itself in real life but on screen, they had no competition. Their last film Silsila still sets the hearts of their fans fluttering with joy. Apart from Silsila, their earlier films Alaap and Do Anjaane also spoke volumes of their sizzling chemistry.
4.Nargis – Raj Kapoor:-
Another romance which did not result in a real-life pairing, Raj Kapoor and Nargis were what dreams were made of when it came to love for people of that generation! Their song together “Pyar Hua Ikrar Hua” still remains an iconic romantic song. The RK Banner depicts a still from one of their movies together. After all, they had a run of more than a dozen movies together.
5.Waheeda Rahman – Guru Dutt:-
Probably the most well-known on-screen pairing of the Golden Age of Cinema, this Jodi could not translate into real life and remains one of the most recalled stories of unrequited love. But they gave some of the most cult movies which remain an inspiration till date. Pyaasa and Kaagaz Ke Phool remain two of their most remembered movies.
6.Dharmendra – Hema Malini:-
They had worked in innumerable movies together like Raja Jani, Seeta Aur Geeta and Sholay among others. Unlike others on the list, their on-screen pairing did result in an off-screen romance, marriage and kids. The combination was ethereal and fans still wish to see them sharing screen space together.
7.Neetu Singh – Rishi Kapoor:-
One of the cutest on-screen couples in the 70s, they were a treat to the eyes. Rumour has it that they did a lot of films together in order to spend more time with each other. Even in multi-starrer movies like Amar Akbar Anthony and Kabhie Kabhie, they made their presence felt. And now their son is creating ripples in the industry!
8.Juhi Chawla - Aamir Khan:-
Their sizzling romance and lip-lock in Aamir’s debut film Qayamat se Qayamat Tak set the screen ablaze. What created the most buzz around them was the fact that they were wildly different than other on-screen jodis of the time. Juhi Chawla had won a beauty pageant and Aamir had the suave “Chocolate Boy” looks.
9.Deepika Padukone – Ranbir Kapoor:-
We loved them on screen and more so, off-screen. Alas! It wasn’t meant to be! However, the two professional actors have worked together in a total of 3 films in the 10 years they have been in the industry. We still get all mushy-mushy watching them in “Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani” and “Tamasha”.
10.Raveena Tandon – Akshay Kumar:-
They worked in Mohra together among several movies in the 90s and bowled the audience over with their chemistry. Engaged for a brief period, it`s highly unlikely to see this hit pair on screen again. Whenever we wish to revisit them, we resort to watching “Tip Tip Barsa Paani” all over again.
